At Orange County Acting Academy, we are committed to providing exceptional performing arts, acting, public speaking, and other educational services that meet the diverse needs of charter school students and their families. As a trusted partner, we ensure that our programs align with the requirements and standards set forth by charter schools. Below, you’ll find detailed information on how we comply with all necessary guidelines and regulations.

Why Choose Orange County Acting Academy?

Non-Sectarian and Non-Discriminatory Services: All our educational services are strictly non-sectarian and non-discriminatory, ensuring equal access and opportunity for every student.

Comprehensive Background Checks: We conduct thorough background checks for all our staff in accordance with the law, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our students.

  • All coaches have obtained California Child Performer Services Permits through the California Department of Industrial Relations. They are fingerprinted and livescanned. The scans are used to check the criminal history records of the FBI and the Department of Justice. Anyone who intends to represent or provide child performer services to any artist or performer who is under 18 years old in the state of California for a fee must have a child performer service permit.
Legislation aimed at protecting current and aspiring child actors and performers from sexual predators was approved September 2012. The law bars sex offenders from providing services to minors working or seeking to work in the entertainment industry. Assembly Bill 1660 does so by requiring a wide range of professionals working with artists or performers who are under 18 years of age to undergo a criminal background check and obtain a Child Performer Services (CPS) permit from the Department of Industrial Relations’ Labor Commissioner’s Office (also known as the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement).

Health and Safety Compliance: To create a safe learning environment, we adhere to all state and county health and safety guidelines, including COVID-19 protocols.

No Affiliation with Private Schools: We are a standalone academy and are not affiliated with any private school or part-time programs.

Inclusive Access: Our programs are available to all students without requiring tryouts, auditions, or testing for access.
